About Team

 Shayna Norwood

Owner, Designer & Lead Printer

Shayna Norwood is a professionally trained visual artist with a BFA from San Francisco Art Institute. She's been letterpress printing since 2004, and Steel Petal Press has been her full time gig since 2010.  When not thinking up funny greeting card ideas or working with wedding clients you can find her riding her bike around Chicago, enjoying tacos, or out dancing to her favorite DJs and bands.

Studio Manager

Kat is happy to help keep Steel Petal Press running smoothly. She completed her undergrad degree in Philosophy, but quickly realized that she should’ve gone to school for fine art instead.  In 2005 she established her hand-made jewelry company, Elemental Art Jewelry where she specializes in glass and rubber chainmaille designs. She is also known internationally for her many published projects. Crafty businesses simply rock!

Shipping Lead

Coming from a small e-commerce business background, Matt’s excited to bring his expertise in packaging and shipping to Steel Petal Press.  With an inherent knack and love for all things mechanical, Matt intended on pursuing an education in engineering.  Though, when his hobby of hand-making performance car parts grew into a successful small business, he quickly changed his focus and started his company Damond Motorsports.  He is happy to be part of the Steel Petal Press team and help with all aspects of order fulfillment.

Printing and Studio Assistant

Sara Riley Douglas is a born and raised Florida girl, but traded in her bikini for a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2014.  Since then Sara has fallen in love with the Chicago art community as primarily a screen-printer, but also utilizes working with painting, freelance design and illustration. With these skills Sara is inspired by working at Steal Petal Press and loves to work with the staff on ideas of design and typography playing together to make wonderful objects. She also runs a printing press with best friend, Ashlee Mays called Twin Peaks Press, based out of Logan Square Chicago.
